The Autodesk® App Store Autodesk® Fusion 360™ Hackathon (hereinafter referred to as “the Hackathon”) is series of web training sessions and open Q&A sessions on Autodesk Fusion 360 API running from September 23rd 2015 to October 30th 2015. During the sessions, Publishers will have the opportunity to receive help in real-time from the Autodesk Developer Network team and the Fusion API engineering team. For all new Fusion 360 apps submitted to the Autodesk App Store by midnight on October 30th, 2015 and accepted for publication in the store by December 15th, 2015, each entrant of the Hackathon will receive US$ 500 for one eligible app only per entrant.
Many developers often have ideas of apps they would like to submit to the Autodesk App Store but due to other time commitments do not take the steps to develop or finish and submit their apps. And, with Fusion 360 API being new, we know there’s a lot of basic learning too. This event is designed to deliver you the support you need — as well as a financial incentive — to motivate you to learn the API and publish your first Fusion 360 app in the store. It will make taking action to publish Fusion apps simple and feasible.
No, there is no fee for registration and participation.
Yes, this Hackathon is specific to Autodesk Fusion 360 Apps only.
This Hackathon is series of smaller events spread out over several weeks. It is designed to help you get your first Fusion 360 app developed and published quickly and efficiently. There will be some training events to help you get familiar with Fusion 360 and its API and several open Q&A sessions where you can get personalized help and participate in open discussions. Both the Autodesk Developer Network team and the Fusion API engineering team will be involved. There will be dedicated staff ready to answer your questions and give you a helping hand to develop your App(s). The event will be helpful and social – a mix of chat sessions, live Q&A sessions, and if needed, private one-on-one meetings with our specialists. You’ll meet other Publishers “virtually” and learn from their questions too. Whether you have an app in mind or not, and even if you complete your apps after the Hackathon this is a great event to learn how to easily develop and publish your first Fusion 360 app. You’ll get to know the Autodesk Engineering team better too!
For all new Fusion 360 apps submitted to the Autodesk App Store by the Deadline (midnight on October 30th, 2015) and accepted for publication in the store by 11:59 p.m. PT on December 15th, 2015, each entrant will receive US$ 500 for one eligible app only per entrant.
To receive US$500 per app there is a limit of 1 eligible app per entrant (Max US $500 total). An entrant may submit more than 1 app but the reward will be limited to 1 app. If you have more than one great idea for an app, find a friend (or two) to work with you so you can get US$500 each!
Autodesk has designated a third party payment processor. Payment will be made to your PayPal email address. A PayPal email address is required for participation in this event.
No. The reward is only available for new apps submitted and accepted for publication. Existing Publishers may however submit new, unique apps as long as they meet the requirements — i.e. they may not be a different “flavor” of an existing app. This event is for brand new apps only.
No. Only Apps submitted between September 1st 2015 to October 30th 2015 are eligible to receive the reward.
Although registration is not required, it is recommended so that you can receive important communications and get the help you may need to build your Fusion Apps.
No. Apps must be submitted on or before October 30th, 2015.
Apps must be “unique”. Where an app has different flavors of an existing app, we will consider the submission as only one app. Some examples of the one App rule include, but not limited to:
- Apps that have both a Trial version and a Paid version
- Apps in more than one language
- Same app submitted to support multiple OS (win-64, Mac)
App Submission Requirements. Publishers must submit their apps before or during the event and the submitted apps must meet the following criteria:
- App must be complete and ready for testing by the Autodesk App Store testing team.
- App should add value to Autodesk Fusion 360 (Autodesk will be the final authority to judge whether an app is adding value or not to Autodesk Fusion 360);
- App should work immediately after installation;
- App should not require any manual steps to run after installation;
- App should support the latest version of Autodesk Fusion 360; and
- App should be accepted for publication by Autodesk (after testing) in the Autodesk Exchange Apps store by 11:59 p.m. PT on December 15th, 2015.
- All apps should meet the full requirements posted at www.autodesk.com/developapps
You will not receive the reward for your app if your app does not get published in Autodesk Exchange Apps by December 15th, 2015. However, we will continue to test and process your app so that it can be published at a later date.
