Have you taken a look at Fusion 360 yet?

Autodesk® Fusion 360™ is one of the first Cloud based mechanical design tools. It is an integrated CAD, CAM, and CAE tool for product development, built for the new ways products are designed and made.

This is a once in a decade opportunity to stake out your position in a new market – where you can be the market leader

Reasons to develop Fusion 360 apps now:

  • Connector.

    Rapid adoption

Education and start-ups - the people creating the future of mechanical design and on the forefront of the “Future of Making Things” are quickly adopting this next generation mechanical design. Not only is it much quicker to learn than Autodesk® Inventor® but with its Cloud back-end, collaboration and sharing are “built-in”.

  • Connector.

    Get in early

It's easy to be noticed and stand out. While the first Fusion apps are not in themselves significant revenue generators today, now is the time to stake out your position with the next generation Cloud based design tools.

  • Connector.

Position yourself as a technology leader

For your customers investing in your current revenue generating desktop products you can demonstrate a path to a Cloud/Sharing/Collaborative future.

  • Connector.

    Leapfrog your competition

Do you have a large competitor “holding you back”? This is a once in a decade or two opportunity to leapfrog them.

  • Connector.

    Leverage Autodesk promotional efforts

Take advantage of the fact that Autodesk is heavily promoting Fusion 360. You can piggyback on our efforts and build up your brand recognition - by supporting Fusion 360. With just a small investment of time, you can secure your position with Autodesk’s “early adopter” Fusion customers. And we know that early adopters love, embrace and have the strongest need for add-on apps.

  • Connector.

    Easy Fusion API

The API enables the development of more sophisticated 3rd party add-ins for Fusion 360 to extend its functionality. The API, accessible through Python, JavaScript and C++, is quite simple, so it’s quick and easy to learn.

  • Connector.

    Attractive customer pricing

Fusion 360 is at a very different price point from both Inventor and SolidWorks - at just $25/month for both design and CAM. This makes Fusion based solutions attractive to new price sensitive customers that Autodesk and developers have not been able to reach before.

  • Connector.

    Financial incentive

To motivate you to learn the API and publish your first Fusion 360 app in the store. For all new Fusion 360 apps submitted to the Autodesk App Store by midnight on October 30th, 2015 and accepted for publication in the store by December 15th, 2015, each entrant of the Hackathon will receive US$ 500 for one eligible app only per entrant.

If you haven’t touched Fusion yet, now is a great time to get started!
